How it's curated
Compiled by the aviation/aerospace education ecosystem. Vetted by NCASE.
Programs come into the databases three ways: NCASE member organizations submit them, public program rosters surface them, and educators send corrections when they spot something out of date.
Aviation education moves quickly, so the databases are treated as working lists. Each module displays its latest data refresh, and updates can be submitted for review when a link changes, a program closes, or a new opportunity should be listed.

There’s also another angle. Knowing about scholarships and applying to them is different from getting them. One enterprising Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student says he paid for his entire education at ERAU by applying to all the scholarships no one else applies to. Where to find scholarships
The NCASE Scholarship, School, and Apprenticeship databases have been curated by the Velocity R Aviation Foundation, a unique coalition of aviation and career-development professionals whose aim is to provide career information, guidance, mentorship, and scholarships for those seeking opportunities in the aviation industry. Velocity R also curated the NCASE lists for post-secondary aviation schools.
Another guide is the University Aviation Association, which offers a free online Aviation Collegiate Scholarship Catalogue complementing the UAA’s Collegiate Aviation Guide, updated annually. There is also the Future of Aviation Initiative, with its list of scholarships updated every year, and AeroCareers.net.
Finally, Aviation Start is working to build the best scholarship and training platform in the industry. It has identified more than $20 million in scholarships and grants for a wide range of aviation careers. It even has an AI tool to guide you to scholarships you qualify for — and it’s completely free.
For those seeking to become commercial airline pilots, United Captain Jolanda Witvliet, Richard Swindell, and Andrew Ross published The Airline Transition Manual. It is designed for student pilots and those looking for a career change to commercial airline pilot.

What’s in the Coalition Databases?
Three databases: scholarships and funding, aviation schools by state, and aviation internships. Each is compiled by NCASE from field and partner information, and reviewed before it is published.

Do I need an account to search them?
No. Every database is free to search, with no login and no membership required.

Then why do you ask for my email?
Only if you want the complete spreadsheet sent to you. Searching, filtering, and reading any record on this page never asks for anything. The email is so we can send the file, and occasionally let you know when something significant changes.

Where does the information come from?
From the field — educators, program providers, and partner organizations — along with NCASE’s own research. Entries are reviewed by NCASE before they are added.

How do I narrow the list to what I need?
Check the status, filter the list, then open the record. Each database can be filtered by what matters to it — state, credential level, award amount, or keyword.

How do I get a scholarship, school, or program added?
Use the Suggest a Resource form. NCASE reviews submissions from educators, program providers, and partner organizations on an ongoing basis.

How current is the information?
Records are updated as new programs are confirmed and as partners send us changes. Where a listing carries a date, that date reflects when it was last confirmed.
